Skirmish returns for its seventh season with three different format options for stores to bring to their communities. Blitz, Monarch draft and for the first time the new Blitz Preconstructed format!
Skirmish Season 7 gives players their first chance to put Dusk till Dawn to the test using the brand-new tools the set has to offer Blitz players.
If your community is geared towards limited events, then stores can run Monarch booster draft for the Skirmish. Monarch is the limited format at the upcoming Nationals Season (August 25th – September 10th). This will also give your community an extra chance to prepare for the Nationals.
Blitz Preconstructed offers the best of constructed and limited formats. New players can jump into an event with a Preconstructed Blitz deck from either the History Pack 1 Blitz Decks or Outsiders Blitz Decks removing any barrier to play. At the same time veteran players can prove their skill by outplaying their opponents on a level battlefield.

Blitz Format Updates
Skirmish Season 7 will see an experimental change to the deck construction rules for the Blitz constructed format. For a full rundown of the change and why it's happening please check the link below. In the interim, you should be aware of these key points:
- This change only affects stores running Blitz Constructed events.
- This does not change anything with how you run the event. However, your tournament organizer or Judge should be aware of the change.
- This change only affects this season of Skirmish. For example, Armory Blitz events run during this time are unaffected.
- This change does not invalidate any player's current Blitz deck. If it was a legal deck before this change it is still a legal deck to play at Skirmish Season 7.
If you require any additional support or information please reach out to us at op@fabtcg.com.

Event Structure
All events should be run with swiss rounds, followed by a top 4 or 8 cut depending on the number of players in the event (except for 8 player events where there is no top cut). All events need a minimum of 8 players to run (start)
Booster Draft
- Draft events for Skirmish should run one draft. One draft event would have the players draft then play three rounds and then cut to a top eight draft. This is ideal for events 32 players and under.
- If your event would be over 32 players you may want to consider running a two draft event. For a two draft events, players would draft, play three rounds then draft again then three more rounds before a cut to top 8 draft.
- A two draft event is up to the tournament organizers discretion and stores may need to charge more for the additional draft. For further advice on this please contact the team at op@fabtcg.com
Blitz Preconstructed
- These events will use either History Pack 1 or Outsiders preconstructed blitz decks. Stores must announce their choice prior to the event.
- You may not use a mixture of these decks; it must be one or the other.
- Part of entry to this event is the purchase of a preconstructed blitz deck and needs to be provided to players at the start of the event.
- Stores need to announce how they will distribute the preconstructed blitz decks. They can be given to players randomly or players can choose while stocks last.
- The deck players use in the swiss rounds will be the one they use in top 8.
The event structure for this is the same as a Blitz event. For additional information on the format check the link Blitz Preconstructed

2x Genesis (Cold Foil) | 1 is to be awarded to the winner the other is to be rewarded at random |
33x Herald of Tenacity (Extended Art Rainbow Foil) | Should be given out as participation prizes. |
2x Flicker Trick playmats | The two playmats are for 1st and 2nd place finishers. |
How do I get the Prize Kits?
The prize kits will be available to order from your GEM registered distributor. LSS will send distributors a list of invited stores to the Skirmish season once the sanctioning window has closed. Once your event has been confirmed, you will be able to contact your distribution representative and order the kit. The kits will be shipped from your preferred distributor closer to the date of your event.
Do the top players qualify for any other events?
Skirmish events do not award any invitations to future events but do award XP which may assist players to secure ratings-based invitations to Premier Events.
Can I add prizes to the prize pool?
TO’s can add whatever additional prizes they see fit to the event. The distribution of additional prizes is up to the TO.
What do I do with leftover prize cards?
While the Genesis Cold Foil and Flicker Trick playmats must be given out during the event, you can use any remaining Herald of Tenacity (EA Rainbow Foils) as additional prizes or they can be used at the stores discretion for future events inline with the new Casual Play policy. However stores should announce how they are doing this to players at the event.
Event Coverage
Events such as Skirmish also give you the opportunity to share your store and local community with our team and the wider Flesh and Blood community. We invite all stores hosting Skirmish events to fill out the Skirmish Season 7 Event Coverage Form to provide us with coverage information for your event. This is in addition to the hero data and results which are collected via GEM and the Hero Assignment feature.
We're primarily looking for:
Top 8 deck lists - photo of the winner & Top 8 - General event photos - Hero breakdowns - Stories of players, matches, or the day
Please note we cannot feature every store that provides coverage information, but we greatly appreciate any and all information stores can provide for our coverage pieces. We look forward to hearing your stories! If you have any questions about the form or want to submit additional information, please email the team at coverage@fabtcg.com.
Rules Enforcement, Judges and Decklists
Skirmish events are run at casual rules enforcement. Please check the Procedure and Penalty Guidelines for more information.
The purpose of this event is to be an enjoyable community-building exercise; if you must adjudicate on a rules breach, we encourage you to assume good faith on the part of the players and to treat it as an honest mistake and a learning opportunity.
The intent behind rulings is to restore the game state where possible and leave the players feeling positive after you have adjudicated the situation.
Do I need a Judge for an event?
You don’t need a judge for the event; however, we would recommend that either the TO for the event or a store staff member is familiar with documents found in the Rules & Policy Centre.
If you would like to appoint a judge for the event, you can also try to find one on Judge HUB Judge Finder.
Are deck lists required for Blitz or Draft Skirmish events?
The Skirmish series is run at a casual level, so they are not required. At your discretion, you may require deck lists, but you should advise players well in advance if this is going to be a requirement. Deck lists can be useful as it allows us to spotlight the top-performing players in your community when you submit the through the Skirmish Season 7 Event Coverage Form
You can find the appropriate deck lists here - Constructed Deck list - Monarch Card Poll registration.
Do I need to record the Hero’s played by players?
For Skirmish events, it is required for TO’s to record the hero played by the top 8 competitors. We appreciate it if stores can fill in the details of all heroes played for constructed events, as this helps us to improve the development of the game. The Hero Assignment feature is available in GEM, and you can read up on how to use it at the link Hero Assignment.

Where do I find digital assets for social media?
